You did it! Whether you obtained a medical recommendation, or just happen to be over the age of 21 in a recreational state, you can finally purchase some cannabis. But how? Where? You could ask Siri or Alexa, but their results are limited and often times show closed businesses. Yelp may produce more options, but even that platform isn't so reliable. Allow me to introduce Weedmaps. Here are some direct links:
If you are using a different device, you can also visit www.Weedmaps.com

Now there are other apps and websites out there that can work, such as Leafly, but I am choosing to present this one. Why? Because I am personally most comfortable on Weedmaps, and if you've ever used Yelp before, you can already figure out how this one works. The reason it is better than your other business search engines is simply because this one is catered for your cannabis needs. Here is a glimpse of the home screen of the app:

As you can see, Weedmaps organizes businesses by physical storefront locations, as well as delivery based services. It displays beneath each store's link whether it offers medical and/or recreational sales, as these regulations may differ based on different laws. There are also sections to search by specific brands, and local deals, which is pretty cool. For sake of simplicity, we are only going to worry about the store locator in this post. Each of these categories offers a map view as well.

See? Easy to use, and very similar to other apps. Where Weedmaps really stands out is after you've selected a store. When you reach a business's personal page, most of them utilize the menu function, allowing you to see the range of their products. Plus, if you select one of the products listed, a new page opens to provide a more detailed description of that specific item and its costs. Here are a couple examples:

And that's it! A simple way to find the cannabis you're looking for, and where to get it. You may have even noticed the doctors section on the home screen. This will be covered in another post with more depth, but yes you can find doctors who offer Cannabis prescriptions through Weedmaps too. As always, thank you for reading, and see you next class!
