There has been increasing news around companies, such as CVS, introducing their own lines of CBD products. I have seen advertisements for tinctures all over, so it would be helpful to know what these are, and what to look for. There are some unique benefits to cannabis in this form, if you know what top look for.
To start, tinctures can provide very accurate amounts of your CBD, THC, and other ingredients, helping significantly in finding what the right dosing level is for you. Each bottles should include this dosing information, though you may need some math. Different brands will also sell products that range in their CBD to THC ratios for more specific uses. If you find yourself very sensitive to THC, a higher CBD ratio would reduce those effects dramatically. Tinctures do work like edibles, so their effects last for longer periods of time; though since they are typically oil based, they absorb faster, and may activate faster as well.
I suggest reading the labels when shopping, because some tinctures can also offer a variety of other herbal additives in order to enhance specific effects. Tumeric and Black pepper are great for inflammation when paired together, so tinctures for pain tend to use this. Other ingredients you may find include melatonin for sleep, lavender for relaxation, ginger root for a variety of health benefits, and the list of supplements goes on.
For personal use, I make sure to take CBD daily in this form. Tinctures are best utilized when part of a daily regiment, and the effects will start to feel more permanent a couple of weeks in. I recommend the products made with “full spectrum” CBD; though that does mean they contain extremely small amounts of THC.
