Focus!

Looking to dive deep into a novel, or complete that project for school or work? The common thought would be to save the smoking for after you've finished, but what about when getting into the right mindset is the source of your trouble?

Obviously I'm going to tie in cannabis here, haven't you read any of my posts!? One of those previous discussions covers the topic of terpenes, and their impacts. We only cover a few of them in that post, but it offers a great introduction to the range of uses for the various strains. The relevant terpene for today's lesson is called Pinene. Yes, it literally creates that "pine" scent you can find in many strains. It is also known to spike a person's attention span, and increase mental activity. Sativa dominant strains are usually where you can find this most, with a couple personal recommendations being AK-47 or Trainwreck. Each of these strains create a "calm focused" sensation.

Now for some important tips when using cannabis for focus. It is best to already be doing what you need to focus on when the effects start. Since smoking happens pretty instantaneously, it helps to already be at your desk. Otherwise you may find yourself stuck on whatever distractions get between you and your work. Also when using strains for specific purposes, dosing becomes very important. Too much may just turn into a strong THC high, which will be more likely to relax and detach you from that desired productivity. The cliche phrase, "less is more" rings more true than ever when aiming for focus.

This has been an easy introduction into using marijuana for focus. If you have any questions about how you can use it to benefit your life, please submit a question and we will cover it in a future post.
