It does not make research to find out the current epidemic that is mental depression. It is prevalent in a large percentage of humans, and can be a very painful and expensive condition, only worsening its impact on someone's life. The proper use of cannabis has the potential to change a person's outlook, as it did with mine. Depression is one of the first reasons I found myself developing a relationship cannabis. It is not an exaggeration to say that it can make colors brighter, food taste better, and music sound more sweet.
Per our usual routine, let's examine how CBD impacts this condition, and then see what THC adds to the mix. CBD itself offers that relief range of impacts. Its anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, and anti-depressant qualities are a great start to treatment. Since this is a condition I can relate to directly, how about I share my routine. I personally use a CBD tincture each morning, and I'll take a second dose in the afternoon on exceptionally stressful days. I recommend the tincture because it absorbs quickly into the body, and its effect last around 4-8 hours, covering most of the day. Though now I must stress about my daily use. Being that depression is a long term condition, it requires long term treatment. After 10 days to two weeks of regularly taking a CBD tincture, its effects begin to feel more permanent. Keeping the CBD in your system through this regiment offers this benefit. Alternatively, about 10 days after stopping this practice, the present "calmness" begins to dissipate. To add one more positive from CBD tincture, it does not have to interfere with your regular cannabis smoking habits. In fact, the combination of CBD and THC are even more powerful for the battle with depression.
THC's psychoactive properties are incredible for altering the state of mind. Especially those sunny sativas! Their effects are more mentally based, and can even act a bit like a brain stimulant. Bringing up terpenes again, Limonene is a natural mood elevator. This is the citrus terpene. That means that any cannabis strains with a lemon or pineapple aroma will be effective for making you happier. Some go to strains include Jack Herer and Pineapple Express; yes the one that movie is named after.
That all being said, proper dosing becomes important. Too much can cause heightened paranoia as well as other traits that would negatively impact depression. If you do ever feel "too high" like this, taking CBD will help relieve those effects.
Once again, thank you for reading. And remember that you can submit your own questions through the home page. I would be happy to share the information that could help develop your relationship with cannabis too!
